Charles B. HAYES, 81, died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday Jan 9, 1965 in Allen Nursing Home, Rockville. Mr. Hayes, a resident of the Waveland area the past 48 years was a retired carpenter and railroader. Born May 23, 1883 in Parke County, he was a son of Josiah & Martha Wiser Hayes. He was married Feb 7, 1904 to Nora (Nell) Robards. They were married at Rockville. Survivors include the widow; 3 sons, Milfred of Lafayette; Verne of Evanston, Ill and Jack of Michigan City; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Servies of Waveland & Mrs. Martha Miller of Columbus, OH; a brother, Willard of Mishawaka; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Hayes of E. Chicago; 10 grandchildren; 4 greats and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Vester and Donald. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Machledt & Servies Funeral home with Rev. CN McBrayer officiating; interment in Barnes Cemetery, Judson.
